2. Mic stand adapters and shock mount frames

Studio mic stands use thread adapters (5/8"-27, 3/8"-16, 1/4"-20) and shock mounts (the elastic suspension that isolates a condenser mic from floor vibration). Adapter material is almost always brass C360 — it machines cleanly to the thread spec, the threads hold up to repeated assembly, and brass adds weight that helps stability. Shock mount frames are typically 6061-T6 aluminum with laser-engraved brand markings, finished in matte anodized black. 3. Monitor shelves and isolation brackets

Studio monitor speakers weigh 8–30 kg each and are sensitive to vibration transfer. The shelf or bracket that holds them has to carry the weight without flexing, without ringing the cabinet, and without conducting speaker vibration into the wall or desk. Most prosumer monitor shelves are machined from 12–15 mm 6061-T6 aluminum plate, often with rubber isolation pads bonded to the top surface and laser-cut mounting slots. 1. Rack ear hole pattern: ±0.10 mm

Standard 19" rack equipment uses a 465 mm × 76.2 mm pattern with #10-32 or M6 threads. A misaligned rack ear will not seat in the rack rails.

2. Adapter thread concentricity: 0.05 mm

Mic stand adapters and shock mount threads must run concentric within 0.05 mm to the part's centerline.

3. Monitor shelf flatness: 0.10 mm across 100 mm

A monitor shelf that is not flat will tilt the speaker and shift the stereo image.

Mounting slots allow for wall-stud or desk-frame misalignment.

5. Anodize thread engagement surfaces: post-anodize thread chase

Any threaded hole that needs to accept a screw after anodizing must be either masked during anodizing or chased (re-tapped) after anodizing.
